To Our Valued Clients & Policy Holders:

In response to requests for hurricane disaster prevention information for insured's, we have listed 3 website links below connecting to sites by FEMA, Escambia County FL and NBC News. All three review before, during, and after advice on hurricanes. We suggest reviewing all three for those interested in how to protect themselves from a hurricane. A quick overview of some preparing for a hurricane advice would be:
  • Plan an evacuation route and let loved ones know your plans.
  • Have post hurricane contact plan.
  • Shutter all doors and windows, not forgetting to reinforce the garage door and even solid wood doors.
  • Brace gabled ends of homes from the inside.
  • Trim dead or week trees.
  • Bring in all yard items.
  • Have disaster supplies on hand - water (fill baths and sinks with water), emergency food, flashlights, cash, battery operated radio, etc.. good list included in links below.
  • Turn off gas and set refrigerator and freezer on high to keep cool longer in the event of no power.
  • Check into flood insurance.
  • There is also before, during and post hurricane advice.
